Travel Reservations Consultant

Antipodes Travel is a well-established Dunedin-based Travel agency committed to providing memorable and seamless travel experiences to our clients across New Zealand, Australia, and the Pacific Islands.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
You will be responsible for assisting our Travel Consultants in booking their client’s travel arrangements. This role involves providing accurate information and efficient booking services to ensure our clients have a memorable and stress-free travel experience.
The successful applicant would be joining a small office environment in central Dunedin of primarily French Speaking employees (bilingual). Notions of French would be a bonus, however, should the candidate not have command of the language, an outgoing personality would be of help.

KEY RESPONSABILITIES:

  • Make and confirm travel reservations, including accommodation, car rentals, ferries, and activities, using our reservation systems and tools.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and up-to-date information about bookings and suppliers’ payments.
  • Handle any changes or modifications to existing travel bookings, including cancellations and rebooking requests.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client concerns, resolving issues, and maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
  • Upload rates in our booking system.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in a travel-related role.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Notions of the French language is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple client reservations simultaneously and to handle financial transactions.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with computer systems requiring data entry.
  • Experience with the Tourism Software Tourwriter would be preferred but not essential (training can be provided).
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a multilingual team environment.

Full time position, 35-40 hours per week from Monday to Friday.
Starting date: mid-December 2024 or early January 2025. Potential training early December.
